Dear DCHS Families,

At DCHS the safety and security of students is our top priority. All school doors are locked from 8:07 a.m.-3:05 p.m. Anyone wishing to enter the school during this time will be asked to provide their name and purpose for the visit. The visitor will then need to report immediately to the high school office. Visitors will be escorted to the location they are visiting.

Along with secured entry to our building, DCHS has also changed the practice of “visiting” the high school. Visitors will be allowed to visit a staff member only if it is outside the staff member’s teaching time and they have permission from the staff member and administration. The practice of “stopping in” to see friends will no longer be allowed during the school day. While we certainly enjoy visitors, this change was decided by staff to enhance the safety and security of our students and staff.
