D.A.R.E. Graduation
Posted by Abbey Lang on 3/8/2021Every year our 5th graders participate in the DARE program and we celebrate their "graduation" at the end. This year had 155 fifth-grade students graduating!
Students wrote essays about what the program means to them. Marina Koski, Alec Anderson, and Melaina Ailie were asked to read their essays as well.
One of the most anticipated parts of each DARE graduation is the demonstration done by the Wright County K-9 Officer. Thanks, Deputy Dahlheimer for taking the bite!

Congratulations Kenzie Yager!
Posted by Abbey Lang on 2/18/2021"Kenzie is only 1 of 2 girls to make the team from a smaller rural school. She is also our first girl from DC to be named to the team." Head Coach Justin Larson shared.
He went on to explain, "She NORMALLY would be joining the team and they would perform at state, but due to COVID, that's not happening this year. In a normal year, she would be invited to an awards banquet, and receive a medal for the honor."Kenzie has participated in Dassel-Cokato Cheerleading for about two years, before that she was active in dance for about five years and gymnastics when she was younger. "Making this team means all my hard work and dedication has paid off," she said. " If you are thinking about joining cheer, I would say go for it. Cheer opens up many different things like a second family, weightlifting, staying fit, having fun, and just learning new responsibilities that may help you when you're older."
Congratulations Kenzie! We look forward to watching you throughout your career with Dassel-Cokato Cheerleading and beyond!
